Very interesting report. I'd be interested in how these finds reflect some of the releases by Salesforce.com's ChatterExchange (incl FinancialForce.com's Chatterbox) and SAP's StreamWorks. These social apps seem more tailored to the business and come from trusted business applications providers as such would they address many of the concerns you have uncovered in the above? Any insight?

The unification of systems across an Enterprise or Supply Chain are now greatly simplified by vendors who offer IaaS (Integration as a Service). Long gone are the days when expensive software, in-house configured and implemented was required to stimulate even the most basic of C2C handshakes. Cloud computing and IaaS promise quicker implementations that are more cost effective and straightforward than many thought possible, and boy do they deliver!
